Membership

Membership:

The League consists of Regular Members (those who have served honorably under the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor) and Associate Members. Membership includes active-duty, Reserve, and retired Marines, as well as Navy FMF Corpsmen and Chaplains who have served for 90 days or more. The Marine Corps League consists of approximately 1,100 to 1,200 local detachments across the United States and overseas. â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹

Associate Members:

Those individuals not qualified for “Regular Membership” in the Marine Corps League or Marine Corps League Auxiliary who espouse the principle purposes of the Marine Corps League as contained in its Congressional Charter may upon application to a Detachment, or to the National Headquarters, may be accepted for “Associate Membership” in the Marine Corps League.

 

Associate Members will be entitled to all rights, privileges and benefits of a Regular Member with certain exceptions: they may not vote on regular membership applications; hold an elected office; vote for elected officers or on Marine Corps League policy.  They may, however, vote on internal affairs of the Detachment and may hold appointed positions.

Meetings:  1st Saturday of every month at 11:00 A.M., with the exception of August, when there is no meeting.

​​​​​​Organization Breakdown:
Detachments:  These are the local units where members gather.

Departments:  They are grouped under 49 state-level departments.

The state-level entities  oversee local detachments.

Divisions:  The national structure includes ten (10) Divisions, each containing a number of Departments.

Community Involvement:  League members are active in community service, organizing Marine Corps Birthday Balls, participating in programs like Toys for Tots, providing funeral honors, and supporting wounded warriors.
